In April of 2023, Santos Chamber Singers was able to present their first program as a mixed ensemble, He is Risen. A belated Easter celebration, He is Risen featured works by acclaimed composers such as Eric Whitacre, Rene Clausen, and the up-and-coming Ernesto Herrera. The highlight of the program was the commissioned work, "His Cross" by composer in residence, Taylor Egan. "His Cross" is an eerie tribute to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, designed to sound painfully beautiful, and effectively depicting the painful beauty of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
